Stoney Creek and the Iron Horse

Our 1:87 scale display of Stoney Creek based on the H.G. & B. R. (c.1910), now covering from Bartonville to Winona with models of historical buildings in west Saltfleet, Olde Town Stoney Creek, Fruitland, and Winona

The From Saltfleet to Stoney Creek historical photo display and database, complementing the model, has been moved to the fieldstone basement of the Lee home. 

Tweedside: A Vanished Village

An exhibit memorializing the historic village of Tweedside, centring on the time capsule from 1897 found under the now-demolished Tweedside Church

Lee's Life in Fashion

Displaying artefacts from the museum, this exhibit contains  nineteenth and early twentieth century clothing and accessories from the time of Erland and Janet Lee.

AUGUST 14th          6th ANNUAL COUNTRY MARKETPLACE

 

Location: Binbrook Fairgrounds

Time: 9 am to 1 pm

 

The Country Marketplace takes place at Binbrook Fairgrounds on Saturday August 14th, 2010, from 9 am to 1 pm.  Over 40 vendors will be showcasing their wares: everything from collectibles to jewellery to clothing, inside and outside Building #3. Come meet the Binbrook community in our innovative outdoor market square. Featuring a special appearance by Hamilton’s Town Crier.  

 

Admission and parking are free. 

 

Proceeds from the country marketplace booth fees go directly to the preservation of the museum.

Nov 7- Dec 5                18th ANNUAL LOCAL ART SHOW

Location: Erland Lee Museum

Time: During the Museum's regular hours

Every autumn, the Museum invites local artists from Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek and beyond to participate. Over 30 artists submit a variety of work in various sizes and styles, which are exhibited in the Museum’s Carriage House. The art work varies, from unframed watercolours, to elaborate framed oils, to prints. The Art Show is designed to highlight the talent of local artists and offer reasonably priced works for sale.

 

Many of the contributing artists will be on hand to discuss their work with guests at the Art Show's Grand Opening on November 7th.  Light refreshments will be served.
